This is an amazing post as well as your Part II. I think you suggest that you grew up on a dairy farm?? That would explain why you are tough as nails...I so admire your patience and determination. I had dairy goats for a short time and will get them again...And if I ever, for a second, thought that a cow might be easier than 3 or so dairy goats, I'll never think that again. Fortunately I love goat milk/cheese but I know some folks prefer cow milk. Good luck and I look forward to more informative posts.

Leecia PriceAnonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02878034478690558035noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6109280025743411757.post-82967514089522674892012-03-05T09:56:02.482-05:002012-03-05T09:56:02.482-05:00Wow!!! (and yes, I eat artisanal cheese) Like you, I had always assumed a blissful relationship between cow and maid. Now? Zounds! For many, it's something that must be experienced before they can truly understand. However, you have written this post in such a manner that it is not only delightful reading but it also gives one of the most detailed accounts of the joys and heartaches that I have read condensed so that it can be easily shared with prospective cow owners.Maple Lawn Farmhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10813334245826551671noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6109280025743411757.post-18979212078821827852012-03-03T08:28:12.333-05:002012-03-03T08:28:12.333-05:00Oh. It seems as if I'm desperately going to have to sign on to the Keeping a Family Cow forum.
