We had a young male llama that did that...Brilliant! We had a young male llama that did that all the time - he was constantly sticking his head through the mesh fencing and then couldn't or wouldn't pull his head back out and he would stand there for who knows how long before I noticed and got him out. I finally started to take advantage of the situation and got him desensitized to having his ears, face and mouth handled and could put his halter on and off with ease while he was "trapped".
