Free Handspun Wool Scarf Giveaway

Here's giveaway #2:

When the farm's Facebook page reaches 1,000 fans, I'm also going to give away this handspun, hand knitted scarf.

The scarf is made of pure, undyed Icelandic sheep's wool from this beautiful ewe named Urbana:

The scarf is about 5" wide and 5' long, not counting the fringe.  It is 100% factory-free.  Every step of its creation, from the birth of the sheep to the shearing, washing, carding, and spinning of the wool into yarn, to the knitting of the finished scarf was all done by hand, by me, right here on the farm.

To enter, all you have to do is comment on this blog post!

But remember, the giveaway happens once our farm's Facebook page reaches 1,000 fans (as of this writing we have just 74 more to go to get there).  Help us reach our goal by forwarding this page to your friends and family, Tweeting about this giveaway, posting a link to this page on your own blog or Facebook wall, etc., and then the giveaway will happen sooner.

If you're the "crafty" sort and would love to make your own scarf (or sweater, or...)  make sure to check out our Free Icelandic Fleece Giveaway too.

One entry per person for each giveaway, but you can enter all three giveaways if you like:

Lovely scarf. Knowing what goes into raising, shearing, skirting, washing, carding, spinning, and knitting a project like this, I can really appreciate the end product.

Looks great! Would match my handbag!

Carey: You're right, it WOULD match your handbag perfectly. It's made from the very same fleece that your bag was! Only this is knitted instead of woven.

I really enjoy reading your blogs and appreciate the time you took to answer my "silly" questions :)

I really love what you are doing with your farm. Hoping one day to get out of factory work and work on my own farm, learning all I can about raising sheep and utilizing them for spinning and weaving projects! This scarf is beautiful and it is awesome knowing all the work and all the steps it took to make the final product! I would love to win the scarf in time to keep me warm this winter!

Beautiful scarf. Where do you find the time to do all this work? Hopefully all the hard work is paying off! I found you via a friend and you do amazing work. So do you have a machine or do you hand knit? I have a friend that has an alpaca farm and yarn shop. One of the greatest buys she ever made was the knitting machine. I know it isn't "handmade" but you can turn out some really neat items. I still do it the old fashioned way, one stitch at a time. I have told myself, I will not start another project until all the projects are off the sticks. I am not doing well with this one. I started a little hat last week. But you can never have enough in your stash. ~Sabine.
