This time of year, the lambs grow so fast, it's hard to keep up with taking new photos of them all. Here are the most recent photos of many of them. There are still a few that I didn't catch today, which I'll try to update soon.

Newest Lamb

Here's a picture of our newest lamb, born yesterday.

Weigelia INGL EWE 01H 040W: Horned white single ewe (to a ewe lamb). Born April 28, 2009. 6 lbs., 7 oz. at birth. Carries moorit, solid, and possibly spotting. 36% AI bloodlines (Ari, Laekur, Liefur, Moli, Muli). 25% Solee, 25% Taj.

Sire has exceptional heat/parasite resistance. Dam carries good lines for both meat and fleece, as well as two leadersheep bloodlines.

More New Lambs

Here are photos of some of the new lambs since last time I posted. Besides these lambs and the ones in the previous post, there are still two ewes waiting to give birth, and one lamb that was born just a few hours ago that I don't have a photo of yet.

Sire was our largest, most parasite resistant lamb last year. Dam has a large, wide build and an excellent horn set. This lamb is already quite stout, just a solid ball of muscles, and very friendly.

Lambs of 2009

Our 2009 lambing season is starting to wind down, so at last I'm posting the long-awaited lamb pictures. This isn't all of the lambs, but it's all of them that I have photos of so far.

Besides these, there are four new lambs that I haven't gotten pictures of yet, and a few more ewes still waiting to give birth.

They are listed in the order that they were born.


Windsor INGL RAM M5H 001W (shown at 22 days old): Horned moorit solid single ram. Born March 8, 2009. A whopping 13 lbs., 7 oz. at birth—by far our largest lamb ever! May carry spotting. 31.25% AI bloodlines (Bambi, Flotti, Morro). 25% Midas.

This is a bold, confident, friendly lamb, and he is going to be HUGE. At 3 weeks old, he was already nearly 33 lbs.! Sire has good meat build and thick, crimpy fleece. Dam has beautifully soft fleece and superb heat/parasite resistance.
